Reading through entire Bible is a great experience. There are two things which stand out for me.
1. LOVE: IJohn 4: 9-10 sums it up(as do many other writers).
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins”.
2. SIN: Prevalent in all humanity, each of us is guilty. It is a continual battle both individually and with society to beware the “Roaring Lion”. I fear for this country. If our society continues to eject God from schools and public places, he will surely “shake the dust from his feet” and leave us abandoned to our collective sin. Paul says it very clearly in Romans I:24-32 what will happen. Not pleasant. I was struck with the number of times and how many writers, both O.T. and N.T. wrote addressing this subject.
We had better speak out against the forces of evil.
